Boneless Mercies Giveaway Plus A Fun Book Caddy!

Time for another giveaway! It’s fall, and everyone should be cuddled up with their favorite paranormal creature… or a book. Your call. Either way, add to your TBR with the giveaway below, The Boneless Mercies by April Genevieve Tucholke, plus a fuzzy book caddy to keep your favorite book nice and cozy in the chilly air!

Frey, Ovie, Juniper, and Runa are the Boneless Mercies—girls hired to kill quickly, quietly, and mercifully. But Frey is weary of the death trade and, having been raised on the heroic sagas of her people, dreams of a bigger life.

When she hears of an unstoppable monster ravaging a nearby town, Frey decides this is the Mercies' one chance out. The fame and fortune of bringing down such a beast would ensure a new future for all the Mercies. In fact, her actions may change the story arc of women everywhere.

Full of fierce girls, bloodlust, tenuous alliances, and unapologetic quests for glory, this elegantly spun tale challenges the power of storytelling—and who gets to be the storyteller. Perfect for fans of Maggie Stiefvater, V.E. Schwab, and Heidi Heilig.

It’s time to clean up some of the piles around here! (And man do I have piles!) I’m pretty sure one of these toppling piles of TBR will be the death of me someday.

Enter to win three amazing new magical YA titles!

If These Wings Could Fly by Kyrie McCauley: Tens of thousands of crows invading Auburn, Pennsylvania, is a problem for everyone in town except seventeen-year-old Leighton Barnes. Residents complain about the nuisance, the strangeness of the birds. But for Leighton, it’s no stranger than her house, which inexplicably repairs itself every time her father loses his temper and breaks things. No stranger than growing up in a town full of people who look the other way.

Leighton doesn’t have time for the crows, or for her classmate, Liam, even if he is funny, kind, and entirely too charming. It’s her senior year, and acceptance to her dream college is finally within reach. But grabbing that lifeline means abandoning her sisters. Which is a choice she’s not ready to face.

With her father’s rage worsening and the town in chaos over the crows, Leighton allows herself a chance at happiness with Liam, even though falling in love feels like a revolutionary act. Balancing school, dating, and survival under the shadow of sixty thousand feathered wings starts to feel almost comfortable, but Leighton knows that this fragile equilibrium can only last so long before it shatters.

13 Doorways: Wolves Behind Them All by Laura Ruby: From the author of Printz Medal winner Bone Gap comes the unforgettable story of two young women—one living, one dead—dealing with loss, desire, and the fragility of the American dream during WWII.

When Frankie’s mother died and her father left her and her siblings at an orphanage in Chicago, it was supposed to be only temporary—just long enough for him to get back on his feet and be able to provide for them once again. That’s why Frankie's not prepared for the day that he arrives for his weekend visit with a new woman on his arm and out-of-state train tickets in his pocket.

Now Frankie and her sister, Toni, are abandoned alongside so many other orphans—two young, unwanted women doing everything they can to survive.

And as the embers of the Great Depression are kindled into the fires of World War II, and the shadows of injustice, poverty, and death walk the streets in broad daylight, it will be up to Frankie to find something worth holding on to in the ruins of this shattered America—every minute of every day spent wondering if the life she's able to carve out will be enough.

I will admit I do not know the answer. But I will be watching, waiting to find out.

That’s what ghosts do.

Angel Mage by Garth Nix: A new fantasy masterpiece from Garth Nix, bestselling author of the Old Kingdom series.

More than a century has passed since Liliath crept into the empty sarcophagus of Saint Marguerite, fleeing the Fall of Ystara. But she emerges from her magical sleep still beautiful, looking no more than nineteen, and once again renews her single-minded quest to be united with her lover, Palleniel, the archangel of Ystara.

It's a seemingly impossible quest, but Liliath is one of the greatest practitioners of angelic magic to have ever lived, summoning angels and forcing them to do her bidding. Four young people hold her interest: Simeon, a studious doctor-in-training; Henri, a dedicated fortune hunter; Agnez, a glory-seeking musketeer; and Dorotea, icon-maker and scholar of angelic magic.

The four feel a strange kinship from the moment they meet but do not suspect their importance. And none of them know just how Liliath plans to use them, as mere pawns in her plan, no matter the cost to everyone else.

This Looks Like Fun...

This one came across my suggestions today, and it caught my eye!

Only the most elite young witches in America are invited to attend the prestigious Midnight Academy.

The most elite… And me.

I shouldn't be here, and everyone knows it. I'm failing all my classes, making more enemies than friends, and wondering how I let my overbearing mother talk me into this mess in the first place.

Things are bad enough, when a botched spell summons a naked trickster god into my dorm room. He’s annoying as hell--and twice as hot. I’m desperate to send him back to whatever pit he came from, but then I find out about the Nightmare Trials, the series of impossibly dangerous tests that Midnight Academy calls finals.

Maybe his help is exactly what I need, after all... Check it out….

Hello to the World!

After years of reading books, I decided it was time to write one myself. I’m lucky enough to have some friends in the publishing biz - Kate Karyus Quinn and Demitria Lunetta - who already knew the ropes. And luckily, they were looking for someone to hop in with them on a fun ride - the Mount Olympus Academy series!

We had a great time writing about Edie, the reluctant shape-shifter, and her friends at an academy run by the gods where students with paranormal powers are trained to help fight in the war against monsters.

We hope you enjoy it, too!
